9. White Rabbit Windows

It is the task of the White Rabbits to reveal to the visitor how the garden was, in its’ natural state, before it was restructured by the artist. The mirror strips on the windows blend two ‘adjusted realities’ together, as they alternate the vision of the mystical garden and the natural countryside that lays behind it, mixing dreams and reality. Giant strawberry-red vases add a pop of color to the immobility of the squarish bushes.

The vision

While the whole garden was being renovated and twisted following my creative projection, under the slightly upset eyes of my family members, I felt the need to remember how the garden was… before me. For the occasion, I had to borrow two white rabbits from “my” Wonderland. Frankly, I think I deserve it since this tale has engagingly haunted me since I was little, as a consequence to my name. The White Rabbits have been promised two giant strawberries as a price for their service. The parcel is pretty expensive but I have to say that they are professional in everything they do, and they don’t ask for a lot of food or free time either. The task is not simple at all: they have to manage the reconciliation of past times and present ones. I’m afraid they might ask for a raise. It is the sun that rises in the morning from this strange, magic windows to the past, that gives me hope. Maybe this is what I’d hoped to get out of this – a place that brings reconciliation and continuity.
